Reviews
Smallish museum which covers the army tokko pilots. Costs 310 yen to enter and no photography on the second floor. It's best to use Google translate on the second floor so you can access the material
If you are familiar with the Chiran Peace Museum this is a smaller version of that and focuses on the people who took off from Bansei Airfield. There is a wrecked plane in the middle of the room and on the second floor is personal letters and items from the people who left the airfield. This place has its own uniqueness that is different from Chiran.
A very moving museum great displays and helpful staff smaller than some museums but worth the visit
for everyone who wanna learn about japan kamikaze.
I didn't know that there was a Mansei Peace Memorial Hall in addition to Chiran.
I had the opportunity to take a tour, and it was so impressive that my heart felt heavy.
It got me thinking.
The first floor is an area where you can take photos, and the second floor is where items left by the war dead and their families are displayed, so taking photos is prohibited.
On the second floor, I saw photos and suicide notes of people who gave their lives at a young age, and I was shocked by the content, which is unimaginable today, and some of the guests were sobbing.
This is a facility you should definitely visit at least once.
Afterwards, we visited Gokoku Shrine in Kagoshima Prefecture and prayed in gratitude for building a peaceful Japan.
A facility located at Fukiagehama Seaside Park.
Although it is quite small compared to the Special Attack Peace Memorial Hall in Chiran, what is the purpose of the exhibition? Taste? I felt it was a little different from Chiran.
The location is not far from Chiran town, so we recommend visiting it in conjunction with Chiran.
📆2023-October
I visited for the first time over 25 years ago after being guided by my husband.
The person in charge explained the 1F floor in detail 🙇♀️
Chiran is famous, and it seems that the famous image used in Chiran (the image of a suicide bomber holding Wanchan in his arms) was also provided to Chiran from Mansei.
Many young people are scattered in the sky for the sake of their country🥲
We must be grateful for the happiness of our current times and live our lives to the fullest🍀
